Sound Modifier

Sound Modifier

Generates a modifier value based on the waveform of an audio source.

Method #

This node outputs a modifier value based on the waveform of an audio file or a live captured audio input. The waveform is processed using a set of parameters, allowing for greater control over how the sound is interpreted.

The output is a numeric value that can be further processed with other modifiers, or directly connected to a parameter in another node, using the operation method selected.

These properties control the core behaviours of the node.

Current ValueShows the current value of the effect. Cannot be directly changed.
Blend AmountThe amount to blend the input modifier’s value with it’s new value.
SoundSound file used for the modifier.
LoopingControls whether the sound loops across timeline loops or resets. Only functions if a sound is selected within this node and a sound source isn’t connected to the Sound input.
OperationThe operation to be performed on the targeted parameter.
  • Add : Adds to the parameter value.
  • Subtract : Subtracts from the parameter value.
  • Multiply : Multiplies the parameter value.
  • Replace : Replaces the parameter value.
Restore ValuesToggle whether the values restore to 0. If unchecked, generated values incrementally add to the modifier value.
Frequency BandSets the Band EQ to one of the given presets.
Band EQSelects and weights the frequency bands to be used from the sound file.
Time OffsetOffsets the time the value is modified from the time the waveform is played.
Change ThresholdChanges the threshold for what counts toward the modifier.
AttackControls the initial time between the current value to the peak.
DecayControls the time between the peak to the sustain level.
Min ValueActs as a minimum threshold for extracting a range of values from the audio feed.
Max ValueActs as a maximum threshold for extracting a range of values from the audio feed.
Max ClampClamps the result.
SpikinessAccentuates peaks in the waveform so they are sharper.
ScaleAdjust the scale/range of the modifier.
OffsetOffset the waveform.
SmoothnessAdjust the amount of smoothing to applied to the output value.
WaveformA visual representation of the output of the node.
