Method #
This node enables a timeline based video editing workflow, by automatically blending between connected videos in the timeline using their position and length on the timeline.
Parameters
Parameter Details Preview In Viewport
Preview the generated image as an overlay in the viewport.
- Off : No preview is generated.
- RGBA : Preview the image blended with alpha in the viewport.
- RGB : Preview the colour channels in the viewport.
- Alpha : Preview the alpha channel in the viewport.
- PIP : Preview the image blended with alpha in the viewport, in a smaller picture in picture display, on top of the existing content.
Apply PostFX Before Alpha Image Input (Legacy)
When enabled, the alpha input image is applied after the postfx pass, overwriting any effects the postfx would have applied to the alpha channel.
Transition Mode
Control how to transition between connected videos.
- Cut : Hard cuts from one video clip to another with no interpolation. The lowest active node input to the Video Clips input will be placed on top.
- Auto Crossfade : Automatically fades between the input clips, using the clips overlapping time in the timeline for the duration.
- Fixed Duration Crossfade : Automatically fades between the input clips, over a fixed duration in seconds.
- Manual Crossfade : Places lowest active node input to the Video Clips input will be placed on top. The user defines the blend time and rate using modifiers or keyframes.
- Linear Wipe : Transitions between the input clips using a linear wipe effect. The angle of the wipe can be controlled via the Wipe Angle property. The wipe can be feathered using the Feather Amount property.
- Radial Wipe : Transitions between the input clips using a radial wipe effect. The wipe can be feathered using the Feather Amount property.
- Slices : Transitions between the input clips using slicing effect. The number of slices can be controlled via the Slice Count property. The slices can be feathered using the Feather Amount property.
- Tiles : Transitions between the input clips using a tiling effect. The number of tiles can be controlled via the Num Tiles X and Num Tiles Y properties. The tiles can be feathered using the Feather Amount property.
- Circular Wipe : Transitions between the input clips using a circular wipe effect. The Colour property can be used change the colour of the effect.
- Transition With Image : Transitions between the input clips using a transition image. Transition time is scaled by the luminance value from the transition image. Pixels with white alpha transition last, and pixels with black alpha transition first. The effect can be softened using the Softness property.
Fade Duration
The time in seconds taken to blend from one video to another. Only available with Transition Mode set to Fixed Duration Crossfade.
Fade
A keyframeable slider to blend from one video to another. Only available with Transition Mode set to Manual Crossfade.
Feather Amount
Used to feather the transition.
Wipe Angle
The angle of the wipe.
Slice Count
The number of slices to use. Only available with Transition Mode set to Slices.
Num Tiles X
The number of tiles to use in X. Only available with Transition Mode set to Tiles.
Num Tiles Y
The number of tiles to use in Y. Only available with Transition Mode set to Tiles.
Colour
Used to specify a colour for the wipe. Only available with Transition Mode set to Circular Wipe.
Softness
Used to soften the transition. Only available with Transition Mode set to Transition With Image.
