Method #

This node defines a sky box which can be used as a background for a 3D scene. Sky boxes can be created from images that are arranged in a spherical or dual paraboloid format. The image is converted into a cube map to be used as a sky box. The cube map is stored in a 16-bit HDR format so HDR images may be used for the sky box.

Parameters

These properties control the 3D transforms of the node. Transforms will generally be inherited by child nodes, although they can be ignored through the Inherit Transform Channels attributes.

ParameterDetails
Position XMove along the local x-axis.
Position YMove along the local y-axis.
Position ZMove along the local z-axis.
Rotation HeadingRotate around the local y-axis.
Rotation PitchRotate around the local x-axis.
Rotation BankRotate around the local z-axis.
Scale XScale along the local x-axis.
Scale YScale along the local y-axis.
Scale ZScale along the local z-axis.

Control the inheritance of the transforms from the parent.

ParameterDetails
PositionToggle inheritance of the Position from the parent.
RotationToggle inheritance of the Rotation from the parent.
ScaleToggle inheritance of the Scale from the parent.
World Position OnlyInherit the world position from the parent only, rotation and scale will be ignored. Overrides above properties.
Inherit TimeToggle inheritance of time from the parent.

These properties control the core behaviours of the node.

ParameterDetails
TextureChoose an image to use for the skybox.
BrightnessControl the brightness of the skybox.
Dual Paraboloid BrightnessChange the brightness of the skybox, and all nodes that reflect the skybox.
SizeControl the size of the skybox.
Blur AmountControl the amount of blur that is applied to the skybox.
Dual Paraboloid Blur AmountControl the amount of blur that is applied to the skybox when in dual paraboloid mode.
Render SkyboxToggle whether the skybox is rendered or not.
Skybox ResolutionControl the resolution of the skybox
DynamicToggle whether the skybox is dynamic.
Image Source MappingSelect which type of mapping should be used for the supplied image.
StereoscopicEnables stereoscopic 360 videos/images to be used within a stereoscopic setup. Requires a stereoscopic image to function properly.
Lock To CameraLocks the Skybox to follow the camera, so you cant fly through it.
