When is a subscription charged?
A subscription is charged at the point of order, and at the renewal date of the subscription.
Is there a minimum term to my monthly subscription?
Current Plans (Indie, VFX & RFX) do not have a minimum term, but when cancellation is requested, it will take place at the end of the current billing period (i.e. just before your next renewal date.)
Legacy Subscription Plans (Base & Pro), have a 6 months minimum term. This means that once a subscription has started, it runs for 6 consecutive months (no pauses or breaks). After 6 months you can cancel your subscription at any time.
What products are monthly subscriptions available on?

Legacy Plans: Notch Builder Base and Notch Builder Pro
What products are annual subscriptions available on?

What is a Flexible Subscription on Legacy Plans?

get in touch with us if you wish to switch your legacy plan.
Do I need to be online to use my subscribed application?
You can be offline for periods of time. However, there are some important things to know for
software licenses (Indie & VFX) and
dongle licenses (RFX, our legacy plans Base & Pro).
Can I use my software license on any PC?
For dongle based licenses (RFX, our legacy plans Base & Pro), simply plug in your licensing dongle on the machine you wish to use and away you go.
For software based licenses (Indie & VFX), you can use your license on up to two PCs simultaneously. Read more on details here.
Do projects made in Builder Base work in Pro and vice-versa?
Yes projects are fully interoperable between Base and Pro.
Do projects made in VFX work in RFX and vice-versa?
Yes projects are interoperable between VFX and RFX. However, please note that exposed parameters (for media server blocks) configured in RFX will not persist when they are opened in VFX.
I’ve made projects in Trial / Indie how do I open them in VFX / RFX?
There are three ways you can have your Trial or Indie projects converted to VFX or RFX projects:
- After taking out your first VFX or RFX monthly subscription. We can’t convert projects for subsequent monthly subscriptions.
- After taking out a VFX or RFX annual subscription.
- After purchasing a license conversion package from us.
Please get in touch with us for more information.
How is my license delivered?
When you place your order a Codemeter dongle will be sent to you by courier. You’ll receive instructions via email as to how to activate your license on that dongle when it arrives.
When does my subscription begin?
Your subscription begins on the date that you initially purchased the subscription. However, for RFX licenses we add 7 days to your subscription term at no cost, to cover the time it takes to ship your licensing dongle to you.
Where can I find the terms and conditions of the subscription?
Please take a look at the ecommerce T&Cs.
I’ve lost my Codemeter Dongle, what do I do?
I’ve activated my license on a different dongle. Can I transfer it to my own?
There is a fee for transferring licenses between dongles, as this is a manual process. Please get in touch with us at our
Contact Us page to request a license transfer.
